Attend Media Training with The Conversation

On the 18th March 2025, The Conversation UK will be running a 1-hour media training session at The University of Edinburgh

The Conversation is a news analysis and opinion website, with content written by academics working with professional journalists. The University of Edinburgh is a member of The Conversation, and this provides academics with access to several training courses. This online session is one training option, and is being organised by the University of Edinburgh Institute for Academic Development for research and academic staff at the University who would like to build a media profile and take their research to a global public audience.

The 1-hour online session will provide more information on the origins and aims of The Conversation. It will look at why researchers should communicate their research to the public, taking them through The Conversation’s unique, collaborative editorial process, receiving tips on style, tone and structure, and insights into how to pitch and the different approaches and article types.
