Further information about the Centre for Adapting to Changing Environments' Early Career Symposium and Partner Meet Up Day The Centre for Adapting to Changing Environments (ACE) is a multidisciplinary research centre focused on the challenges of adaptation of populations, ecosystems and society to environmental change. It works to support interdisciplinary collaborations across themes of Earth, Life, Ecosystems and Society through facilitation and development of grant ideas, and through networking across schools at the University of Edinburgh and with external partners. You can read more about ACE here: Centre for Adapting to Changing Environments (ACE) The symposium and Partner Meet Up Day will take place on Thursday 10th September, 09:30am-4:30pm at Edinburgh University, King's Buildings Campus.Open to post docs, researchers, lecturers, fellows, university teachers, those at our partner organisations, really anyone that considers themselves early career. Especially relevant to those working on Climate and Environmental Sustainability. The symposium will include:Research showcase: Presentations by ECRs from across ACE organisations. Come and learn about a range of career paths open to ECRs.Lunch, refreshments and networking: Meet people from across ACE organisations in a friendly, informal setting. If you'd like to meet others interested in interdisciplinary research and environmental change, this is for you.Registration for the symposium is now open. If you would like to attend, with or without presenting at the Research Showcase, please register on Eventbrite at this link by Friday 14th August. We are inviting two types of presentation. (1) Research talks: short talks, about 7 minutes' duration, followed by a couple of minutes for questions. Or, (2) Lightning talks + poster: a 1-minute lightning talk in the main session, with a poster presentation just afterwards where you can discuss your work in more depth.For both presentation types, we will give guidance well in advance on tailoring your presentation for an interdisciplinary audience. If you choose to present, the registration form will ask you for a provisional title or topic.
