On the 1st April, the University of Edinburgh published the 2025-2028 Concordat Action plan. The Concordat is an agreement between stakeholders to support the Career development of research staff. The University of Edinburgh has been a signatory to the Concordat since 2020. The Researcher Development Team at the Institute for Academic Development led on the development of the 2025-2028 action plan, working closely and collaboratively with colleagues from across the University and alongside plans for the 2026-2029 Research Culture Action Plan. It includes new actions and actions that build on projects and initiatives developed over the last few years. The action plan is made up of 15 actions, which are organised under the three Concordat principles: Employment Actions: Annual reviews Induction support Academic promotions Contracts and precarity Wellbeing and EDI Environment & Culture Actions: Support and influence University level research cultures initiatives Coordinated promotion of initiatives and projects aimed at researchers Principal Investigators (PI) and research leaders training and support Concordat visibility Research Staff Recognition Professional & Career Development Actions : Mentoring and coaching Career destinations Career development and support 10 days professional development Researcher profiles 2025-2028 Concordat Action Plan Concordat at University of Edinburgh Publication date 05 May, 2025
