Getting started as a postdoctoral researcher online course

An online course for new postdoctoral researchers

Getting started as a postdoctoral researcher is a short online course for staff taking up a new postdoctoral position at Edinburgh. It has been developed by the Researcher Development team in collaboration with research staff and postdoc societies, research staff, postdoc and Early Career Researcher (ECR) champions, research offices, and other professional services, including HR.

The course is aligned to the three principles of the Concordat to support the Career Development of Researchers and covers information, responsibilities and expectations around environment and culture, employment and professional and career development.

Please note this is designed to complement local level induction meetings and activities, not to replace them.
